Philips Hue
The benchmark smart-lighting system: bulbs, strips and fixtures that all run off one bridge and just work.
Philips Hue is the system most people mean when they say smart lighting. It pairs a huge catalogue of bulbs, strips and fixtures with the Hue Bridge, a small hub that gives you rock-solid local control, scenes and automations across the whole house.
Made by Signify (formerly Philips Lighting), Hue has been the category benchmark for over a decade. Almost everything runs on Zigbee for a fast, reliable mesh, and most newer bulbs add Bluetooth, so you can start small and add the bridge later.
We stock the ranges that matter for Australian homes: White, White Ambiance and the full-colour White and Color Ambiance, plus lightstrips, downlights, outdoor fixtures and the accessories that tie a room together.

Before you buy.
Do you need the Hue Bridge?
Short answer: for one or two rooms, no, most current Hue bulbs pair straight to your phone over Bluetooth, and you can control around ten lights that way. Past that, or the moment you want whole-home scenes, automations, remote access or accessories like the Tap Dial, the answer becomes yes.
The Bridge runs everything locally on a fast Zigbee mesh, so lights respond instantly and keep working if your internet drops. It's the single upgrade that turns a few smart bulbs into a smart-lighting system, and it's the thing we'd buy first.
Up to ~10 lights, one room, phone-only control. Fine to start.
50 lights, whole-home scenes, automations, remote & voice control.

Three light qualities, one app.
Every Hue bulb falls into one of three tiers. They share the same app, bridge and fittings, the difference is purely what the light can do.
White
Soft warm white (2700K), dimmable. The cheapest way into Hue; ideal for lamps and utility spaces.
White Ambiance
Tunable white from warm candle to cool daylight (2200–6500K). Best for kitchens and offices.
White & Color
16 million colours plus the full white range. The flagship, living rooms, accents, entertainment.
Specialty
Festavia string lights, Signe floor & table lamps, Gradient strips and outdoor fixtures.
Hue for TV & entertainment
Pair a Gradient Lightstrip with the Hue Sync box and the lights behind your screen track on-screen colour in real time, films, games and music bleed past the bezel into the room. It's the single most-requested Hue setup we sell, and the most convincing demo in the shop.
Hue for wake-up & wind-down
Ambiance bulbs in the bedroom fade in like a sunrise before your alarm and shift to warm, dim candlelight in the evening. Set it up once in the app and the routine runs on the Bridge, no phone required, works even when the internet is down.
Hue for outdoor & security
Lily spots and Calla bollards run off a low-voltage outdoor system, and pair with the Outdoor Sensor so paths light up as you approach. Mimic-presence scenes make the house look lived-in while you're away.

With the Bridge, the whole Hue system also speaks Matter, so it connects natively to any Matter-compatible platform or controller, not just the ones listed above.

Not to start. Most current bulbs pair over Bluetooth for one-room, phone-only control of up to about ten lights. Add the Bridge when you want whole-home scenes, automations, accessories, remote access, or more than ten bulbs. It's the upgrade that makes Hue a system.
Yes. With the Bridge, Hue works natively with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings, and supports Matter. Bluetooth-only setups work with Alexa and Google but not Apple Home.
White is a single warm tone. White Ambiance tunes from warm to cool white. White and Color Ambiance adds 16 million colours on top of the full white range. They all share the same app, bridge and fittings.
Yes, we stock the AU range: B22 bayonet and E27/E14 screw bulbs, GU10 spots, and AU-plug smart plugs and power. Everything ships from local stock with a two-year warranty.
Smart bulbs need constant power, so a flipped wall switch cuts them off. Use the Hue Wall Switch Module behind your existing switch, or the Tap Dial or Dimmer Switch, to keep physical control without killing power to the bulbs.
