Fit
Mounts are cut for a body size, not a single iPad. The size a mount is sold as (iPad, Air, mini or Pro) is the starting point; the exact generations it holds are listed on each product page, and the finder will match yours from its model number.
Power
Permanent charging means the mount keeps the iPad running indefinitely through a connector built into the frame, rather than a channel that only tidies a cable. Every mount here charges permanently, over USB-C or a lead already fitted inside the mount.
Lift out or lock down
An open frame leaves one side clear so the iPad comes off the wall with one hand. A closed frame holds it in and locks. Neither is the better product; they answer different questions, and the range covers both.
Rotation
Some mounts turn between portrait and landscape once they are on the wall, some are fixed, and on others rotation is a unit bought separately. Every mount can be installed either way to begin with.

Lift out or lock down
The real choice here. Open-frame mounts let the iPad off the wall one-handed, which suits a kitchen or a family dashboard someone actually picks up. Closed frames lock it in place, which is what you want by a front door, in a rental, or anywhere a visitor could pocket it.
Charged, not just tidy
A panel that dies by evening is not a panel. Every mount here charges the iPad permanently through the frame, over USB-C or a lead already fitted inside it. The plug that goes into the powerpoint is not supplied, so use a charger you already own.
PoE if you have Ethernet
Every mount in this range can run from a PoE converter instead of a plug pack: 48 V DC off a network switch, one cable to the wall, and no imported mains supply sitting behind your plasterboard. Worth asking about if there is already Ethernet where the iPad is going.
The mount holds it, the iPad does the rest
A mount is a passive bracket. It has no radio and joins no network, so whichever platform runs your home (Apple Home, Google Home, Home Assistant) is the iPad's business, not the mount's. Choose the mount on fit, power and how it looks on the wall.

Yes. A wall mount holds the iPad in a bracket screwed to the wall, and the iPad stays fully usable as a touchscreen. On a mount with permanent charging it stays powered as well, so it works as a control panel instead of something you take down to charge.
Not securely, and not for a panel you will use every day. Adhesive and suction holders exist, but a wall panel gets pressed and swiped constantly, and it still needs a power lead run to it. Every mount we stock screws to the wall properly.
The one cut for your iPad, in the frame that suits the room. Start with the model, since a mount sold for the Air will not hold a 13-inch Pro. Then decide whether you want to lift the iPad off the wall or lock it down. Finish is the last decision, not the first.
Usually, and it is the cheapest way into one. Check two things: that a mount is cut for that body size, and that the app you plan to run still supports the iPad's iOS version. Older iPads charge over Lightning rather than USB-C, so they need a mount with the matching connector.
