Everything you need to know

A mains-powered outdoor floodlight with a pivoting, tilting head that puts up to 2250 lumens where you point it. It rates IP44 against rain, covers 2000–6500K plus millions of colours, and connects over Zigbee and Bluetooth. Add the Hue Bridge for schedules and sunset automations.

Product features

The brightest in the range

The Discover puts out up to 2250 lumens at 4000K, the brightest fixture in the Hue outdoor wall range. That is enough to wash a driveway, a back fence or a large feature wall in even light. White and colour ambiance spans 2000–6500K plus millions of colours.

Point the beam where you want

The head pivots left to right and tilts up and down, so you set the beam on a tree, a wall or a path rather than lighting whatever it happens to face. Dim it or recolour it from the Hue app, over Zigbee and Bluetooth.

Wires into mains, no power pack

The Discover runs on 220–240 V mains, so there is no low-voltage supply to add. Its IP44 rating handles rain and splashing through a wet Australian summer. Have a licensed electrician handle the hard-wiring.

The Philips Hue system

Philips Hue logo

Hue is a system, not just a smart bulb. Every Hue product, from bulbs and lamps to light strips and fixtures, joins the same Zigbee mesh and shows up in one app. A single bulb bought today slots straight into a whole-home setup later.

Philips Hue Light
The lights

Bulbs, lamps, strips & fixtures

All speak Zigbee and mesh with each other, so every light you add extends the network's reach.

Hue Hub
The hub

One Bridge runs the whole home

Runs up to 50 lights off your router, and connects Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings.

The Philips Hue app, a smart button and a dimmer switch
The control

App, voice & switches

One app for rooms, scenes and schedules, plus dimmers, buttons and sensors that work without a phone.

Getting started
1
Start with one light Start here

Add your first Hue light, open the Hue app, and control up to 10 lights in one room over Bluetooth. No hub required.

2
Add the Hue Bridge When you're ready

Run up to 50 lights, control them from anywhere, set schedules and automations, and connect your voice assistant.

Start small, scale up. Everything you buy today keeps working when you add the Bridge, and everything Hue has made since 2012 still joins the same system.

Up to 2250 lumens at 4000K and 2050 lumens at 2700K, which makes it the brightest fixture in the Hue outdoor wall range. Good for washing a driveway or a large wall.

It carries an IP44 rating: protected against rain and splashing from any direction, suited to exposed exterior mounting. It is not rated for direct high-pressure hosing.

Both. White and colour ambiance gives you 2000–6500K white plus millions of colours, set from the Hue app.

Mains. It wires into 220–240 V, so there is no transformer to add. Have a licensed electrician handle the hard-wiring.

Bluetooth lets you control it in range. The Hue Bridge adds schedules, sunset automations and control from away.
