Update hub Ecosystems
SmartThings updates
Every SmartThings change that matters, summarised in plain English each month. What's new, what moved, and what to check.
The headline: the hub now works out whether each Zigbee device is really online from that device's own reporting interval, so buttons and remotes stop showing as connected when they have actually dropped off the network.
How SmartThings updates work
SmartThings changes arrive through the SmartThings app, scheduled hub firmware releases and Samsung's cloud. Hub firmware installs automatically on Samsung's schedule, with release notes published ahead of each rollout.
Each month we round up what actually changed for SmartThings households: new features, changed behaviour, and anything worth checking in your own setup. Rundowns are named for the month they cover, so 2026.7 is July's.
Every update we've covered
Newest first. Each rundown covers one month of changes.
