SmartThings 0.60.12: bridged cameras and quieter Zigbee
SmartThings hub firmware 0.60.12 started rolling out on 25 March 2026. It is a quiet, safe update: nothing breaks, and the headline is bridged camera support, with a few reliability and battery improvements underneath.

The headline feature: your non-Matter cameras finally show up in SmartThings
The biggest change in 0.60.12 is bridged camera support. Until now, only cameras that spoke Matter natively could appear in SmartThings. This release lets a camera that is not a Matter device join through a Matter bridge and still show a live view and record clips, so an older or third-party camera can sit alongside the rest of your home rather than living in its own app.
The recording side got the plumbing to match. SmartThings updated how it handles WebRTC and PushAV so supported cameras can record combined video and audio, and it added multi-stream handling behind the scenes. It is the kind of groundwork you never see, but it is what makes a clip play back with sound instead of silence.
Camera automations also moved closer to the hub. Motion zones and clip rules for cameras that support them now run locally on the hub rather than in the cloud, so a motion-triggered recording or routine fires faster and keeps working if your internet drops.

After a group command the hub now only follows up with the devices that failed to report back, instead of messaging every device on the group. Less network chatter, same reliability.
Matter
Quicker recovery after an outage
Matter devices re-establish their link to the hub more quickly after a power loss or a connectivity blip, so they come back on their own instead of needing a nudge.

Do I need to do anything to install 0.60.12?
