No moving parts to wear out
An ultrasonic sensor measures wind speed and direction, and a haptic sensor measures rainfall. There are no cups, vane or tipping bucket, so nothing mechanical wears out.

- Gusts: the highest speed in the past 28 seconds
- Rainfall to 0.1 mm resolution

- Bluetooth up to 30 m outdoors
- Zigbee up to 300 m outdoors

Common questions
Quick answers before you buy. We test this gear ourselves. Can't find yours? Ask our Melbourne team
Over Bluetooth, yes. A Shelly BLU Gateway or any Plus, Pro, Gen3 or Gen4 Shelly in range acts as its gateway, but Shelly sensors can't. Over Zigbee, a compatible Zigbee hub does the job instead.
Two AA 1.5 V lithium batteries, not included. Don't use alkaline: in cold or wet weather with the heater running they can overheat and leak. Rechargeable NiMH and NiCd cells aren't recommended either.
Only where it's likely to ice up. The supply runs the wind sensor's heater, which melts snow and ice. Most of Australia can skip it.
A 25 mm (1 inch) pole, which isn't included. Line up the north indicator when you mount it so wind direction reads true.
Yes. It broadcasts in the BTHome format, which Home Assistant's BTHome integration picks up.
Not directly, because it has no Matter support.
