How Google Home updates work

Google Home changes arrive through the Google Home app, firmware rollouts to Nest speakers, displays and cameras, and switches flipped on Google's side. Rollouts are often staged, so a feature can reach one home weeks before it reaches another.

Each month we round up what actually changed for Google Home households: new features, changed behaviour, and anything worth checking in your own setup. Rundowns are named for the month they cover, so 2026.7 is July's.
