Everything you need to know

The 3 m Solo is the entry length in Hue's current indoor colour range, sized for a media unit, a run of shelving or a kitchen kickboard. It puts out 1,700 lumens at 4000K and lights the whole strip in one colour at a time, from warm white through to full colour. The base kit includes the controller and power supply, so it works on its own out of the box.

Product features

A single colour across the run

A single colour across the run

The Solo lights the whole strip in one colour at a time, from warm white through to full colour. It won't hold several colours at once along its length. If you want a gradient of colours in one run, the Hue OmniGlow does that instead.

Cut to size for shelves and cabinets

Cut to size for shelves and cabinets

At 3 m this length suits a media unit, a run of shelving or a short kitchen kickboard. It's cuttable at the marked points to shorten it to your space. It isn't extendable, so step up to the 5 m or 10 m Solo if you need a longer single run.

Ready to run, indoors

Ready to run, indoors

The base kit includes the controller and the power supply it needs, so nothing else is required to get it going. It puts out 1,700 lumens at 4000K and is rated IP20 for dry indoor use. Control it over Bluetooth from the Hue app now, or add a Hue Bridge for Matter, automations and voice with Apple Home, Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

The Philips Hue system

Philips Hue logo

Hue is a system, not just a smart bulb. Every Hue product, from bulbs and lamps to light strips and fixtures, joins the same Zigbee mesh and shows up in one app. A single bulb bought today slots straight into a whole-home setup later.

All speak Zigbee and mesh with each other, so every light you add extends the network's reach.

One Bridge runs the whole home

Runs up to 50 lights off your router, and connects Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and SmartThings.

One app for rooms, scenes and schedules, plus dimmers, buttons and sensors that work without a phone.

Getting started
1
Start with one light Start here

Add your first Hue light, open the Hue app, and control up to 10 lights in one room over Bluetooth. No hub required.

2
Add the Hue Bridge When you're ready

Run up to 50 lights, control them from anywhere, set schedules and automations, and connect your voice assistant.

Start small, scale up. Everything you buy today keeps working when you add the Bridge, and everything Hue has made since 2012 still joins the same system.
